If I create format proposals, do I need to register each draft with the FRAPA Digital Online Format Registry?
You
can make a supplemental filing to your original filing to protect any
additions to the draft already registered. If subsequent drafts do not
substantially differ from earlier drafts, it may not be necessary to
make a supplemental filing. You might choose not to register early
drafts or extensive revisions and are not going to promote or pitch the
work to anyone. In such a case there is little danger of copyright
infringement.
What can be registered?
The FRAPA Digital Online Format Registry advise you to register all
of your creative work, i.e. proposals which can include formats,
treatments, scripts, outlines, development documents, tender
submissions, storylines, artwork, and synopses, as soon as possible
after conception. You can register creative work in (almost) every
format with the FRAPA Digital Online Format Registry. When registering
try to include as much detail as possible.
Be advised, that the
FRAPA Digital Online Format Register system makes it technically
impossible for us and anyone else to see, hear or reproduce any file
you register. We understand that safety and confidentiality are the
most important objectives of our services / FRAPA Digital Online Format
Registry.

Is the registration safe?
The actual file you register remains on your computer and is not
uploaded to FRAPA Digital Online Format Registry, only a digital
fingerprint of that file, which is also encrypted. FRAPA Digital Online
Format Registry is designed to exclude any other person then the
registrant from viewing or recreating the features or content of the
digital fingerprint connected with your registered file. Our
registration storage servers are located in the European Union and
United States. To make sure your registered file is safely stored, we
make periodical updates.
Continuing work on a registered file?
Once
your file is registered, it is possible to continue working on the
registered file. FRAPA Digital Online Format Registry software makes a
‘read only’ copy of the registered file and places it in a special
folder within your own computer. Your registration is protected from
accidental change. You can modify a registered work at a later date,
but it is impossible to change the date of the original registration.
The file would have to be registered once again to bring it up to date.
Please make a copy of the ‘FRAPA’ folder to keep your registered files
safe.
Can FRAPA Digital Online Format Registry or anyone else see what I am registering?
Definitely NOT. It is not possible for FRAPA or anyone else to see the contents of the file you are registering.
How does the registration system work?
The
registration system works by registering the ‘digital fingerprint’ of
the data file you wish to register, therefore it is impossible to see
or re-create the contents of the file you have registered.
Is a registration confidential?
YES. No data, names or addresses are passed on to any other company for commercial use.
Am I legally protected if my registered work is misused or stolen?
You
can verify the exact date and time of any FRAPA Digital Online Format
Registry registered data file should there be a plagiarism dispute
regarding the misuse or theft of your format.
How long does the registrations last?
A registration lasts as long as you wish.
On what ‘Time’ is the registration based?
Registration time is based on GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
